A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5A, KAUA’I
COUNTY CODE 1987, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO REAL PROPERTY
TAX
This Bill proposes to amend Chapter 5A, Kaua’i County Code 1987, as
amended, relating to real property tax. The purpose of this Bill is to remove the
requirement that a homeowner, participating in the long-term affordable program,
submit an annual affidavit confirming that the unit continues to be rented in
accordance with the conditions of the program. The removal of the annual affidavit
requirement would give the Real Property Tax Office the flexibility to require a new
affidavit only upon the expiration of the multi-year lease.
